How fast did December come and go?
I personally have had the impression that the last few months have gone really fast.
One thing that we have managed to take some time out for is to go and see the Star Wars new film! I won't give any spoilers! Promise! (it's awesome!)
We didn't have to go far too! Did you know that we have a cinema down our street?
The cinema is quite old fashioned and if you don't take some sort of thick ...

We have seen Totally Locally Scarborough grow in the past year and thanks to this initiative the local shoppers are discovering more of the local businesses. It has created a link which the internet and the big brands had hidden away between the residents/visitors and all the wonderful local traders/crafters/retailers.
We have access to a very large number of shops or independent traders and we can discover them via either the Facebook page, or the Totally Locally Scarborough website. You could therefore ...
A wet windy Sunday, what can we do?
We decided to go to The Deep in Hull and what a great decision!
The journey on the train cost £24.30 (William went free) and lasted for around 1.25 hour, which is not too long. So we set off at 11am and arrived early afternoon.
The walk from the station to the aquarium is lovely through the old town which has been beautifully renovated! The streets are ever so clean!
Arriving at the attraction, quite a few ...

'Freddie Gilroy and the Belsen Stragglers' is a giant steel structure made by Ray Lonsdale, an artist, fabricator and sculptor and is now on permanent display, thanks to the generosity of a local Scarborough resident.
The sculpture is based on a retired miner Ray became friends with who turned out to also be one of the first soldiers to relieve the Bergen-Belsen concentration camp at the end of World War II.
This piece of art is not just about Freddie Gilroy but represents ...
According to a recent article in the local Evening News:
"Scarborough was the third most visited place in the UK last year, according to official figures.
Statistics from Visit England put Scarborough at number three in the list of most visited towns and cities during 2010.
Proving itself as a tourism hotspot, Scarborough beat many high profile destinations including York, Liverpool, Newcastle, Bath, Newquay and the Isle of Wight.
The town was only beaten by London and Blackpool."
